Bring in your Audible library or your own files, then read along, ask spoiler-aware questions, catch up when you drift, and keep the story straight.
Real App Store reviews from audiobook listeners
Love how you found useful ways to leverage AI to upgrade how I consume and interact with audiobooks
As an avid audiobook consumer, I tried many audiobook apps, and Bloox really stands out. The AI features are genuinely useful. “What Did I Miss?” is great when I come back after a break, and the character tracking helps a lot with more complex books. One of the most thoughtful audiobook apps I have used.
I listen to a lot of audiobooks, and this app has a lot to offer. The dev is also really good about listening to feedback.
This app is everything you could want in an audiobook app. The transcribing is a great way to follow along as you read. I have only praise.
I love this app. Not only can I import my audiobooks, it will let me read while the audiobook is playing and will even deep dive into the book and pull up information like the characters. So useful for me as I listen to a lot of audiobooks.
The transcription quality is good, but what really sold me was the interface. You get the full text laid out cleanly while the audio plays. So you can read along.
Listeners asked for Audiobookshelf support and a way to chat with the book. Those requests became Audiobookshelf import and Book Chat beta.
Good Google Drive integration, but need to advance manually in the account connection.
No subscription. No in-app purchases. No ads. Completely free.

Bloox turns the transcript into a real listening companion: ask questions, read along, catch up, and remember who everyone is.
Ask what just happened, who a character is, or whether you are supposed to understand something yet. Answers are grounded in what you have heard so far.
Follow word-level captions while the book plays. Tap a sentence to jump there, or let auto-scroll keep the text moving with the narrator.
Zoned out for a few minutes? Get a short narrative recap and keep listening without rewinding half a chapter.
Meet the cast, see spoiler-conscious descriptions, and spot names in the transcript so complicated books stay followable.
Transcription and catch-up summaries run on-device. Book Chat is optional and sends your question plus relevant heard-so-far context to Bloox servers after consent.
Bloox is built for real audiobook libraries, not just tidy demo files. Import from Audible, connect Audiobookshelf, browse Google Drive, use iCloud or Files, or send books from your computer over Wi-Fi.
No account is required to play your own files, and your library stays private on your device.
Supports M4B, MP3, multi-file books, and CUE chapter markers, with smart ordering and metadata handling for the messy libraries people actually own.
A smarter story layer helps, but the player still has to be comfortable at bedtime, on a walk, and after the phone rings.
Save a moment with transcript context so a bookmark means more than a timestamp.
Jump back into the right book from your Home Screen or Lock Screen.
See listening time, streaks, library stats, and recent sessions at a glance.
Automatically rewinds after calls, pauses, or interruptions so you do not miss a word.
Low-brightness countdown, gentle chime option, and a grace period for sleepy hands.
Preset chips and a slider from 0.5x to 2.0x, saved per session.
Reads embedded, CUE, and multi-file chapters, and fills gaps when books have none.
Play and pause by voice, Shortcuts, widgets, or the controls already in your day.
Bloox is especially useful with long, complicated audiobooks: save the moment, remember the cast, recover after a distraction, and ask the book the small questions that usually pile up.
That is the real product: fewer lost threads, fewer rewinds, and more time actually listening.
Bloox is honest about which features stay on your phone and which ones need a network request.
No ads. No subscription. No in-app purchases. Transcription and “What Did I Miss?” summaries run on-device. Book Chat is optional and asks before sending your question plus relevant heard-so-far context to Bloox servers.
Real feedback from real people.
It’s been so hard for me to keep focused when I listen to audiobooks, and using Bloox, I’m always able to keep track of what’s going on, check on what I missed when I get distracted and see who’s currently speaking. I play the books on 2x speed and look at the captions as the book is read — a perfect combo. 5 stars!
This is better than any other audiobook player I used. It has helpful features like transcription and AI summaries.
I’ve been using this reader from day 1 of its development — it solved so many problems for me, especially with importing my Libation books from Google Drive, and the rate of improvement of the app is staggering. Definitely worth a shot!
The most secure and private audiobook player on the market. I downloaded the top 5 audiobook players out there before finding this one — this beats them all. And the real crazy thing is that despite it using AI, it costs $0. No in-app purchases, no ads, no tracking — a clear choice.
Some listeners buy from Audible. Some self-host. Some keep files in Drive. Bloox tries to meet the library you already have.
Import from your Audible library, keep using Libation when you want desktop exports, connect a self-hosted Audiobookshelf server, or bring standard files from cloud storage and your computer.
